### Main scenario: creating a new redirect

Follow these steps if you want to create a new redirect and track clicks with Redira.

#### Step 1. Go to the app installation page

<figure><img src="/files/zwxGOg7YjuhrXxtpCwRY" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Open the Shopify App Store and search for **Redira**\
or go directly via the official link:

👉 <https://apps.shopify.com/redira>

#### Step 2. Install the app

<div><figure><img src="/files/woZcn0SLXEBZqSwxK9TL" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/bUEGG1cHqFrLhOkYRQvH" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Click **Install** and complete the installation in Shopify.

After installation, you’ll see the Redira welcome screen.

#### Step 3. Pin the app in Shopify

<figure><img src="/files/LESdbgaBzwIGnV9DCy3S" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

To speed up access and avoid potential issues:

* Go to your apps list in Shopify
* Click **Pin** next to Redira

This makes it easier to access the app and manage your redirects.

#### Step 4. Create a redirect

<div><figure><img src="/files/NobEcddOpkSvbUjvVvfC" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/4vM3Eam1Xy7CWAiaK3SA" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/obSoMCrd0hHn4zVgZL14" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/uZ0C42euKiZ52pAyAjdV" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Click **Create redirect**

A modal window will appear where you need to fill in:

* **Redirect from** — a short slug (e.g. `shopify`)
* **Redirect to** — the destination URL

Click **Create redirect** once done.

{% hint style="warning" %}
The **Redirect from** field cannot be changed after creation. If you make a mistake, you’ll need to create a new redirect.
{% endhint %}

#### Step 5. Test the redirect

<div><figure><img src="/files/mQ3QvC6eWZP1Rnj4FJfb" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/LEis0v3o1z4b0hbyi7Ps" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/Ii0ifSfa0oLO3TrOcd7h" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/aCK7n0HSCQk90DaJKzHN" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

After creating the redirect, make sure everything works correctly:

You can:

* click **Open** — the link will open in a new tab
* or copy the link and open it manually

The redirect should automatically take you to the destination URL.

{% hint style="info" %}
Redirect URL format:

`https://your-store-domain/apps/redira/r/{slug}`

Example:

`https://your-store-domain/apps/redira/r/shopify`
{% endhint %}

#### Step 6. Check clicks

<div><figure><img src="/files/k5tDaAxQYxJoTxzYX6Zf" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/CddZtEYbZa3RFtHhVG5v" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

After testing:

* go back to the Redira app
* refresh the page

You’ll see the number of clicks for your redirect.

### Additional scenario: connecting an existing Shopify redirect

If you already have a redirect created using Shopify’s native tools, you can connect it to Redira to track clicks.

**Step 1**

<div><figure><img src="/files/cHaw1QYY9PAt9EJ3Juku" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/PGlaX6FchdvHcmBuCPUO" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Copy the short Redira URL, for example:

```
/apps/redira/r/shopify
```

**Step 2**

<div><figure><img src="/files/f370NcnRsYhWMeVXvsIY" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/hzMGyO34zLEo8xqAsD95" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Go to your existing Shopify redirect and:

* replace the **Redirect to** field with:

```
/apps/redira/r/shopify
```

**Step 3**

<div><figure><img src="/files/0HjX2GEoQR3Wb2zzUlgM" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/ofpFZiGXdRhGx6rdQHgJ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Now open your original link, for example:

```
https://vecomlab.com/shopify
```

**Step 4**

<div><figure><img src="/files/uibLQ38ObFhzxuF1igwM" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/hxIBmz31Ep3r4AXhtRBy" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

After visiting the link:

* return to Redira
* refresh the page

The click will be recorded in the analytics.

### Important

* Redirects start working immediately after creation (if active)
* Always test your redirect after setup

### What’s next

After setting up Redira, you can use it to track:

* ad campaign links
* influencer links
* email campaigns
* QR codes
* seasonal promotions
